Philosophy

The word "Telesis" (derived from Greek) means: to bring each child to completion through intelligent and planned direction, in other words "planned progress." We want each child to learn how to reach his or her own unique potential. As we have developed our curriculum, we have been guided by the following commitments:

  • To plan individual progress inherent in the name "Telesis".
  • To provide small class sizes with an average of 18 students per class.
  • To allow and encourage each individual child to progress at a pace that is appropriate to his or her abilities.
  • To provide specialized programs which benefit the future growth and development of each individual.
  • To offer quality education at its best.

Testimonials

  1. “We really appreciate the great teachers at Telesis who go the extra mile to educate, build character, and make learning easier.”
    Roger Echelberger, Telesis Grandparent

  2. "The education I received at Telesis Preparatory Academy helped me in obtaining a career in the armed forces. Without the high school education received at Telesis, I would have never succeeded."
    PVT John Schmidbauer
    U.S. Army
    Telesis Graduate 2009

  3. "It's important to us that our sons are recognized as individuals. Telesis's small class sizes allow them to be individuals and enables them to move ahead at their own pace as they prepare for college. For parents, too, any question we had for the past four school years was answered promptly in a thoughtful manner, either by the teachers, principal or the office."
    Sam and Betsy Potteiger

  5. “I have been acquainted with Telesis Preparatory Academy since its inception. I have watched it grow and flourish due to excellent leadership dedicated to the mission of providing a nurturing alternative path of education for students. The smaller class size allows for personalized attention to the needs of students and makes a significant difference for students who thrive in that atmosphere.

As a program presenter in the Early Elementary through Intermediate classrooms I have witnessed first hand the caring, compassionate relationship between staff and students. Telesis Preparatory Academy is an asset to the excellent educational community in Lake Havasu City.”
    Mrs. Penny Burtless

  6. “Teaching with the staff at Telesis Preparatory Academy has made a great difference in my teaching career. As I have continued my education and commitment to my teaching career, the Telesis philosophy of parent, teacher, and student collaboration has always stayed with me. As a teacher, and hopefully as an administrator, I look forward to keeping the commitment of this philosophy as part of my own... always making decisions in the best interest of my students.”
    Mrs. Andrea Johnson-Helart

  7. "I was a member of the Telesis family for two wonderful years. Telesis was (and still is) just that...a family. Telesis is unique. It has a special place in my heart where no other school is or can be. Telesis will always be my favorite and most memorable district to work for. The passion and philosophy of Telesis was contagious. The vision was always in the foreground. There was a positive and constant drive to do more for your students, as well as to grow as a teacher. The teachers at Telesis were a team. We worked together for one common goal--the success of our students--with the philosophy as our guide."
    Ms. Amy Webert

  8. Our Son Cody Kramer was fortunate enough to have been a student at Telesis Preparatory Academy from Kindergarten through graduation. His education was excellent. Telesis has a team of very dedicated and caring teachers, and that, along with the small class sizes makes Telesis a great place to learn. Beacuse of his well rounded education at Telesis, Cody easily adjusted to campus life at Arizona State University, and has had a very successful first semester. Thank you Telesis,
    Jill and Dwight Kramer.
  9. “My son attended Telesis for six years and benefited greatly from the smaller class sizes. The teachers and staff went above and beyond to help the students. I found that at Telesis the teachers were able to give more one-on-one attention since the class sizes are smaller. My son graduated from Telesis and works a full-time job. I feel Telesis helped make my son a much better person.”
    Mrs. Diane Fayette

  10. "Telesis Preparatory Academy is a true asset to the Lake Havasu City community. The outstanding teachers and administrators are preparing Telesis students with high quality instruction and excellent social and civic skills. The Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce is proud of the school’s role in our city and to have Telesis as a long-term member of our organization. We are building success, together."
