About Me

Hello, My name is Mrs. Julie Jordan, I am originally from San Diego, CA and moved to Arizona in 2005. I worked in Scottsdale Arizona as a Forensic Crime Scene Investigator, prior to that in San Diego, I worked in the Medical Field as a Medical Assistant, EMT and CPR Instructor and with the San Diego Police Department as a Forensic Investigator Intern. I moved to Mohave Valley, AZ in 2007 and worked in the ER as a EMT/Emergency room tech until 2011, then I began my teaching career with River Valley High School as the CTE Allied Health I/II and Law Enforcement/Forensics teacher from 2011-2015, My 11th and 12th grade Allied Heath students attended MCC at the same time and earned their CNA/CPR certification by the time they were graduating. During my time there, I coached Cross Country, Track and Field, Volleyball, Basketball and Softball. I also worked part-time as a Medical Coroner Examiner for Clark County, I worked Laughlin, Searchlight and CA-NEV-ARI. I am still an EMT/CPR Instructor, and work as a EMT in Las Vegas at events, like the Toughest Mudder. I also certify CPR to the Telesis Seniors as they are required to have this certification before they are able to graduate.

I moved to Lake Havasu City in 2015, and worked as a Deputy Probation Officer for Mohave County until 2018, then I began my career at Telesis. I was a long term substitute and then began my career as a full-time Telesis teacher. I taught 6-12 Science  in 2021, and moved strictly to 6-8 in 2022-23. I enjoy teaching science, it is my forte. I also the head coach for volleyball, a referee for other sports and I am the Chess Club Advisor.
My husband David and I have six children between us, and 5 fur babies,(3 dachshunds, and 2 pure breed German/Siberian Rottweilers). We also breed them.

I completed 3 Associates of Applied Science, 1 in Forensics at Grossmont College, 1 in General Science from Grossmont College, and 1 for the Nursing Program(MCC). I completed a  Bachelor in Science in Administration of Justice at NAU and a Masters in Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Law Enforcement from GCU.
I enjoy teaching 6-8 Science, because the students are still moldable and innocent to a point. I have worked in Science my whole life, I also share real life experiences, have a good sense of humor and joke with the students, and they enjoy that. Plus, I am big on education. I love teaching a Science lesson and then completing a Hands-on Lab so they can experience what they just learned, but in real life. I love coaching the students, because I have played sports my entire life, including my adult life, I am a competitive person and coach my athletes to be the same. I love Telesis, because we are like a family, we look out for one another, when times are rough we have support.

I am HAPPY to announce, I was nominated by my colleagues and won Teacher of the Year for 2022-23. I am truly surprised, humbled and honored to receive this award.

I look forward to the several years ahead at Telesis! GO TIGERS!!!
